Friday love and my family tree

why-i-love-thee-award

The first thing I want to tell you is that my friend Sammy (onespoiledcat) gave me the “Why I Love Thee Award” – you can read what he had to say here. As it’s all about love, I thought it would be nice if I wrote about it this week!

The rules are quite straightforward.

First you thank the friend who passed the award to you – thank you very much, Sammy! And link to their blog – see above.

Then if you’re an animal you tell everyone why you love your bipeds, your people. If you’re a biped you tell why you love your animal(s), or why you love animals in general, or anything you like about love. (I added the last two because not all bipeds are lucky enough to have animals living with them.)

Then you pass the award on to at least one other blogger.

Why I love my bipeds

I love my bipeds because they make me happy. They make sure I have everything I need. They spent time socialising and training with me so that I am relaxed and calm – I get to go to all sorts of places with them. I am part of the family and I know they love me and I feel secure. I have been with them since I was a puppy and I have never had to worry about a thing – I wish all animals could be as lucky as I am.

I would like to pass this award to:

Tylersat99′s Blog
Cat Forsley
The Princess Tails
Boomdeeadda
Twinkletoe Tails
Icewolves of Europa
Under The Oaks
Dakota’s Den
A Husky Life
Kirby’s Dawg Blog

My Family Tree

This is the other thing I want to tell you – Kirby’s Dawg Blog has researched my family tree. There are a few rogues amongst my ancestors and I have links to royalty – the essential ingredients of any family tree!

The post gives a lot of interesting information about Pyrenean Mountain Dogs (Great Pyrenees). There are some fascinating old photographs and a video, so if you haven’t seen it – here’s the link.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Congratulations on your award! We saw the post about your breed yesterday…my sister was excited since the Kuvasz is in your “family” and she is often mistaken for a small Pyr ;)

  2. Congratulations Clowie, how nice for you! I absolutely did enjoy Lea’s post at Kirby’s blog about your history and all. Fantastic. Thank you for the nomination as well, I’ll be posting that on my nomination page with a link back to your pawsome blog, hugs to you

  3. Awwww wow! Congrats on the award Clowie and thanks so much for passing it on to me! I will have to acknowledge it very soon! Your bipeds are sooo good to you I’m glad you are appreciating them! And I’m really glad you liked learning all about your ancestors!!

  4. Love you, Clowie. And, love how you described why you love you bipeds. You’re all blessed to be together and have the life you do. Saw the video and loved the old footage, especially the one of the woman bending down to pet those two puppies. Have a great weekend and give your bipeds a wag from us. Max & Bella, woof woof

    • Thank you! I am very lucky. I hope you’ll gradually be frightened of less things, Cupcake. It takes time, if you’ve been scared. My breed is naturally confident – it was sometimes difficult to keep me out of trouble.

  5. Thank you for the award Clowie I’m honored. It is such a sweet, beautiful award. And second, I very much enjoyed reading the research intro you breed heritage. I have read a lot on Pyrenees before, but there was a lot of new things and was written very well. The pictures added a lit to show your history. Have a great Sunday:-)

  6. Congrats to you Clowie on your award. You sure do deserve that one. We really like Pyreness but have never been around many of them. We do know that they are great at guarding other animals. A lot of people use them for sheep or goats.

    • Thank you! Our traditional role is protection of flocks, we are naturally protective of our families – but we are sensible about it as long as we are socialised well.

  8. Hi Clowie, Marsa here..
How are you? I want to inform you that I’ve changed my address of my blog. The new address is :
    taskylonea.com

I hope you like it because it has changed its appearance. I have added more interesting and useful things such as translation into many many languages (at last, ah?) Now, you can read my news more easily, I hope.
I’m wagging my tail with joy to you,
    Marsa.
